Cats and Crabs

Not in your pants.

We went to the fish store to get our water tested and see about getting some fishies. E-N J-C D-K (Emo Nemo Jon Claud Death Killer) Is apparently aggresive, and I got sad and didn't know what I wanted to get.. since the fishie i really liked is non aggresive and Emo might hurt him .. I didn't get anything. But Juston got 2 Stinging Cat fish who are big scaredy babies. The mostly stay in one little cave and hide from big Emo ... even though they together are like 4 of him.

He also got this cute little Emerald Crab who looks like this.

Hermit Crabs & Filter Changing

We got two little hermit crabs for the salt water tank and changed the filter on the little fresh water tank.

This is my new little Emo Nemo JC

He has quite the big space to himself right now. He's cute and hopefully a survivor.
This is his home. We are going to make it super pretty with clams, corals, fish, anenomes(wever to spelling) and shrimpies.

It is a 40g salty water hopefully not everything dies pretty fish tank which was retrieved from some nice people in SF last night with the help of Tye, his truck and some boy muscles.

New Fishings and plants

We got more plants.. i forgot what they are called and 2 albino cory catfish.. which i think are cute. Juston got this bamboo shrimp guy who is very attractive.
The pH is fixed now.

Oh Plants are good!

So since the fish guy at the fish store of knowledge said plants only do good things.. and they look pretty.. and the fish like them.. I got some more.

It's big and leafy.
They come in these neat little plastic things and live forever.

The fish tank is now rather leafy. I was considering getting a fish but they all looked very blah..
This is what it looks like and I dont actually have any fish since you can't really see any ever.

The pH was amazingly checked before all the adds and came out at a nice 7.4... since my leg is fat and obviousley purple but mostly fat it looks purple when its really light greenish.


Sharkey is having some sort of eye issue and it's hot his eye is probably issuing because of the heat. imo.

Panda Chi is super skitterish today even though a got her a new cuddle bone to snuggle with and a truely wooden perch.. I also looked at other parakeets for friendly possibilites (because thats what i really need) but they also all looked quite blah.

Testing Results

Tank pH 8.2
Untreated Tap water pH 8.4
Treated tap water with twice the recommended dose 7.4
Nitrates are at 0 so yay to that.
Ammonia is hopefully low.. i can't find something needed to test it right now.

After a partial water change the tank is at about 7.6

Ghost shrimps

Ghost shrimps apperntly have a really short life span. And our tap water has a super high pH so the fish people who know things in cotati (which really is far away) told us what to get to fix it. The fish seem happier. The tank still needs a couple water changes to get it lower to 7.4 but its around 7.8 right now then maybe maybe we can get some more fishies. OH and plants aren't pH raising fish killers! yay. They only make things happier and better.

Lowered pH helped

Putting in the pH stabalizer helped, but I wonder what is causing it. Probably the plants. The sucker fish got a bit more lively. It went down to about 7.4 after 20 min hopefully the drastic change doesn't hurt the fishies.

Sick Fish

Oh noes and the sick fish. The sucky fish and mr. froggy is looking quite sickly.. the frog is being floaty and oh no! I ...meaning Juston... tested the pH and its at 8.4 which is apparently horrible! Oh no! We put a pH balanced fizzer in it. Maybe it will make everyone feel better.

New Plants Floating Frog

Hopefully froggy the survivor isn't dying since he's been rather floaty. I think he is just enjoying the heat...at least some people are. Oh and one of the white clouds has a baby filled belly! She is getting quite a fat belly.

Death to ghostie shrimp

One of the ghost shrimp hecka hella hella mysteriously got cought half way under the mountain waterful structure and died.. I think it was a plot against him! But who would murder the little ghost shrimp?

Ass Glass

Big Glass Man is being an ass faced bully to Little Glass man. I think it's because he is actually a she and nagging little glass man because little gas man doesn't want to snuggle.

All is seems good. The ghost shrimp are constantly eating and cleaning the gravel, sucky fish is a little bit neroutic and cleans everything really fast and repeatidly..
Second frog is still in a questionable state but is a survivor so far! Hopefully i didn't just jinx him.

Froggie Scares

The froggies are maybe having issues. One of them is being rather floaty, he has been evacuated to calmer waters and seems to be doing okay. He might just be shedding. He is going to be moved back to the tank soon. We did a %25 water change and got some bottum feeders to clean help clean up a bit.

Water testing shows somewhat high nitrate levels at .5 or 1ppms. The ph is still around 7.4 which is happy. The ammonia level is around .25 which is super.
New additions are 2 ghost shrimp and one golden algae eater.

Fish Happy

We got 3 more fish, 1 live fern, i fake leafy plant, one structural structure.

Hopefully all survive. We got a second glass man to keep Glass Man happy, his name is J R, as well as 2 more white clouds to keep lonely surivor fish happy since chip commited fishie suicide.

The glass man

We got a fishie and a second frog last night. The fish is a glass fish who's name is Glass Man from Amelie imo. This is what he looks like


I think one of the little minnows (wich actually might be danios?) is feeling sad and neglected by his friend who has found a new interest in Glass Man. Hopefully he makes it. We also got a test kit and nearly burnt our skin off until Juston read the directions tellings us not to touch the chemicals. The pH was at 7.4, the ammonia was at 0.25 and the nitrates were at something really low..

Fishies!

This has a whole lot of nothing to do with knitting.

But fishies fishies. Their fish tank was not appropriate for keeping fish healthy according to fish bitch. Seeing as how I need hobbies says someone we will leave unnamed for safety reasons. Here is a hobby.
This is a 10g fish tank!


It currently has one african dwarf frog who's name is froggy poo, or froggy for short. This looks like him and a clone of himself (or herself).

The 2 fish in it are white cloud minnows. They look like this. Except mine are way more prettier because they have white tips on their fins.


I'm going to get a frog and maybe 2 fish this weekend! I think it is the most exciting thing since canned corn.
And by the way their butt fins are called anal fins.
